Street Library Supporter Miss Abernethy (@misscabernethy on Twitter) is using her StreetLibrary books to raise funds for Anthony Nolan.
Anthony Nolan is a registered UK charity dedicated to saving lives through stem cell transplants, primarily for people with blood cancer and blood disorders.
Founded in 1974 by Shirley Nolan, the charity was established in response to her son Anthony’s battle with Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, a rare inherited blood disorder that ultimately claimed Anthony’s life in 1979.
It began as the world’s first bone marrow donor registry and has since evolved, renaming to the Anthony Nolan Trust in 2001 and simply Anthony Nolan in 2010.
