Accessible Novotel Hotel London Blackfriars

4* Novotel Hotel London Blackfriars

46 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NZ

The 4-star Novotel Hotel London Blackfriars is located near the London Thames DIY Walking Route along the Southbank. And is within easy walking/rolling distance of some of the most popular attractions in central London – Tate Modern, St.Paul’s Cathedral, the London Eye, and the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben at Westminster.

The nearest accessible London tube station to the Novotel Hotel London Blackfriars is at Southwark tube station (Jubilee Line), just a 2-minute walk/roll away. The Jubilee Line enables easy access to various areas of central London in one direction, and to the Greenwich/Docklands area of London in the other (although you should definitely follow the step-free London Docklands DIY Walking Tour – as this is an excellent step-free way of visiting the Docklands and the Greenwich peninsula, including a ride on the accessible London Docklands/Greenwich Cable Car).

The London Docklands DIY Walking Tour connects with both the step-free London Thames DIY Walking Tour and the similarly step-free London City DIY Walking Tour at the accessible Tower Bridge.

Accessible Parking:

There are no parking facilities at all at the Novotel Hotel London Blackfriars.

However, there is a drop-off point directly in front of the hotel (you will then have to cross the cycle lane – which has very low kerbs). As Blackfriar’s Road is a designated red route, only wheelchair users are allowed to use the drop-off point between 10am and 4pm).

There is also a bus stop just 20 metres from the entrance (all buses in London are wheelchair accessible).

Accessible Entrance:

The completely step-free main entrance to the Novotel Hotel London Blackfriars has an automatic revolving door. However, there is also an accessible door beside this if needed.

Accessible Reception:

The standard Reception Desk has been replaced with a number of much more accessible, and staffed, “stations” (Reception staff can easily come round and speak to you face-to-face).

This is a much better use of space (in an area where space is at a premium). And space is everything when it comes to accessibility.

There are three accessible lifts (elevators) to the accessible bedrooms on the upper floors.

Accessible Bedrooms:

There are 10 accessible rooms at the Novotel Hotel London Blackfriars.

Accessible Bathrooms:

The accessible bathrooms are wetroom-style. The door between the accessible bedroom and accessible bathroom is 32 inches wide (80cm).

Accessible Eating Options:

The attached Jamboree Foodfest & Bar is step-free/wheelchair accessible.
