Accessible Glasgow Radisson RED Hotel
4* Radisson RED Hotel Glasgow
Finnieston Quay, 25 Tunnel Street, Glasgow, G3 8HL
The Radisson RED Glasgow hotel is located right beside the Scottish Event Campus (inc. Hydro and “Armadillo”), and the River Clyde, about 1.5 miles west of Glasgow Central Train Station, on the route of the Glasgow Riverside DIY Walking Tour.
And being located at the mid-point of the walking route, the Radisson RED Glasgow is PERFECTLY situated for people who would like to split the walk in two (over two separate days), and visit the attractions along the route at a much more relaxing pace.
The accessible hotel facilities are excellent. As is the assistance offered by the wonderful staff (there’s a good reason why the Glasgow Radisson RED Hotel is rated the most popular hotel in Glasgow).
Accessible Parking:
There are 6 on-site accessible parking spaces at the Glasgow Radisson RED Hotel. You have to pay for Blue Badge parking here though.
Should you be arriving by taxi from Glasgow Central Train Station, or anywhere else in central Glasgow, there is a drop-off point immediately outside of the main entrance (with dropped kerbs).
Accessible Entrance:
The main entrance to the Glasgow Radisson RED Hotel is accessible (via a ramp just to the right of the steps).
The sliding double doors at the main entrance are automatic.
Accessible Reception:
The Reception desk at the Glasgow Radisson RED Hotel is just 91cm high, so is easily accessible (as the desk is so low, there’s no need for a lowered section – I just love it when the world comes down to wheelchair level).
There is also a seating area here, and an accessible toilet.
Accessible Public Areas:
All areas of the Glasgow Radisson RED Hotel are accessible.
An accessible lift will take you up to the accessible rooms on the upper floors, and will take you all the way up to the RED Sky Bar (with rooftop terrace) on the 9th Floor. The views of the River Clyde are sensational.
Accessible Bedrooms:
The accessible rooms in the Glasgow Radisson RED Hotel have automatic/powered entrance doors.
Accessible Bathrooms:
All accessible bedrooms in the Radisson RED Hotel Glasgow have accessible ensuite facilites.
Accessible bathrooms are wetroom style. With roll-in showers (which have a wall-mounted flip-up shower chair, and fold-down grabrails).
Accessible Eating Options:
Both the ground floor OUIBar + KTCHN, and the ninth-floor RED Sky Bar are wheelchair accessible (the RED Sky Bar via an accessible lift).
And both have access to an accessible toilet.
The views over the River Clyde at sunset from the RED Sky Bar at the Glasgow Radisson RED Hotel are simply breathtaking. And for those glorious Summer days, there is an outdoor terrace too.
