Accessible Discovery Point in Dundee
Discovery Point was named as one of the Top 10 Best Attractions to visit in Scotland in 2022 by Tripadvisor.
The award-winning visitor attraction at Discovery Point is home to RRS Discovery – and tells the story of the iconic ship from her beginnings in Dundee, to her amazing Antarctic expedition with Captain Scott, to her later voyages.
Through extensive galleries, video and film shows, interactives and artefacts, Discovery Point is a fascinating visitor attraction which appeals to all ages.
Accessible Parking at Discovery Point in Dundee
Accessible parking at Discovery Point is available in a Dundee council-owned “Pay and Display” car park directly adjacent to Discovery Point. Parking here is free for Blue Badge holders.
Access - Entrance to Discovery Point in Dundee
There is level access to Discovery Point via the main entrance. All museum galleries are on the ground floor too.
Concession rates are available, with carers being admitted free of charge.
Should you need it, there is a wheelchair accessible lift to the offices, conference rooms and Dome experience on the First Floor.
Wheelchair access to the RSS Discovery ship itself is more problematic. RSS Discovery is a historic ship – with steps and narrow passages. A ramp gives wheelchair access to the main deck only. However, a film is shown in the Odyssey Gallery which gives a visual tour of RSS Discovery – above and below deck.
