*MOST of Ayr Train Station is completely level (platforms 1-3). This is the main part of the train station, where you’ll find the ticket office – and the wheelchair accessible toilet (RADAR key operated).

However. Platform 4 is accessed by a footbridge. This platform is only used by trains heading further south (to Stranraer) though. If you do have to use this platform though, then to reach Platform 4 from the main train station, you will have to exit the station, go round to the Platform 4 entrance/exit door (via a 5-10 minute trundle across the road bridge), and re-enter the station there.

Not much fun (especially if it’s raining), but definitely possible.

See the Ayr Wheelchair Map for details of other wheelchair accessible attractions, restaurants and hotels in Ayr.
