*MOST of Ayr Train Station is completely level (platforms 1-3). This is the main part of the train station, where you’ll find the ticket office – and the wheelchair accessible toilet (RADAR key operated).
However.
Platform 4 is accessed by a footbridge. This platform is only used by trains heading further south (to Stranraer) though, so if you do have to use this platform, then to reach Platform 4 from the main train station, you will have to exit the station, go round to the Platform 4 entrance/exit door (via a 5-10 minute trundle across the road bridge), and re-enter the station there.
Not much fun (especially if it’s raining), but definitely possible.
