Ribes de Freser. Vall de Nuria Rack Railway. El Cremallera.

The Vall de Núria Rack Railway (also known as El Cremallera) is one of the most wonderful mountain railways in Europe (outside of Switzerland of course – but those trains come later in this Around the World By Train journey).

From the foot of the Núria valley at Ribes de Freser, the Vall de Núria Rack Railway climbs over 1,000 metres (in just 12.5km) to Núria on the crest of the Pyrenees.
