Charity Events in Scotland – June 2019

Saturday 1 June

The MND Scotland Fun Run and Sponsored Walk (Strathclyde Park)

The Fun Run starts at 11am and you can walk, run, jog or use your wheelchair to complete the four or six mile lochside route. Refreshments, entertainment, music and face painters on the day, so bring all your friends and family to join in on the fun!

Sunday 2 June

Kiltwalk Aberdeen (Aberdeen)

Support your chosen charity by taking part in a Kiltwalk and raising unrestricted funds to allow them continue their vital work. Every penny you raise goes to your chosen charity along with an amazing 40% bonus from The Hunter Foundation.

Scottish Huntington’s Association: Ben Nevis Trek (Fort William)

Reach the highest point in Great Britain in this rewarding trek up Ben Nevis (which translates to Mountain of Heaven from Gaelic!!). The trek is not for the faint hearted taking 7-9 hours in total to walk around 10.75 miles ascending 1352m! But the views at the top, the feeling of achievement and knowing you have made a difference will make it all worth it.

Roon The Toon 10K (Kilmarnock)

The Roon the Toon 10K road race starts and finishes at Kilmarnock’s Ayrshire Athletics Arena, and takes competitors ‘Roon the Toon’, through the town centre and surrounding countryside, over a fast predominantly flat course.

Action for Children: Forth Bridge Abseil (South Queensferry)

Feel the adrenaline as you free fall 165ft S.A.S style from one of Scotland’s most iconic landmarks. Action for Children Scotland are challenging you to come and have the experience of a life time by free-falling 165ft S.A.S style from one of Scotland’s most iconic landmarks – The Forth Bridge! Why not brave it as a team? Get some colleagues at work, friends at your local pub or your family to join you.

CHSS: Forth Bridge Abseil (South Queensferry)

This unique challenge allows you to abseil (free-fall style, like the S.A.S.!) from the iconic Forth Rail Bridge – Scotland’s Best Loved Landmark, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s a 165ft drop with a soft landing on the sandy beach below – the ultimate Forth Bridge abseil experience!

JDRF: Forth Bridge Abseil (South Queensferry)

This charity challenge allows you to abseil SAS-style from Scotland’s best loved landmark- the Forth Rail Bridge. A unique challenge that will see you free-fall 165ft onto the soft sandy beach below – it’s a once in a lifetime experience to raise money to help JDRF find the cure for type 1 diabetes. 20 places are available.

Ayrshire Hospice: Ladies Who Lunch (Seamill)

Join the Ladies Lunch Club at Seamill Hydro Hotel where you will always receive a warm and friendly welcome. The club provides a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, listen to entertaining guest speakers and enjoy a beautiful lunch while raising money for your local hospice. Guests will be the West Kilbride Village Orchestra who will be providing some musical entertainment.

Ayrshire Hospice: Ladies Who Lunch (Ayr)

Join the Ladies Lunch Club at Western House Hotel in Ayr where you will always receive a warm and friendly welcome. The club provides a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, listen to entertaining guest speakers and enjoy a beautiful lunch while raising money for your local hospice. Today the club will be visited by CAMPS Theatre Group who will be providing musical entertainment.

Ben Nevis Trek (3 days: Day 1) (Fort William)

This challenge takes you into the heart of the breath taking Western Highlands. The trail to the summit of the highest peak in Britain (set at 1,343m/4,409ft above sea level) is technically easy, but trekking Ben Nevis is a challenge – stamina and determination are a must! The stunning views of the highlands will be with us all the way and provide a fantastic backdrop to one of the most sought after charity challenges in the UK!

Action for Children: The Sports Dinner 2019 (Glasgow)

Action for Children’s The Sports Dinner, sponsored by PG Paper, returns to the Hilton Hotel Glasgow, on Friday 21st June 2019. Tables of ten cost £850, guests will be greeted with a welcome drink as well as a top class three course meal. Entertainment on the night also includes our amazing Grand Auction, Silent Auction and Prize Draw, as well as the other surprise fundraisers we have on the night.

Nightrider Glasgow (Glasgow)

Back in Glasgow for the second year. Once again, two routes are available to you with a choice of a 100km or a 50km ride. The routes are circular and will start and finish in the same place. This fun filled charity cycle ride is about taking on the challenge and seeing the sights. It’s not a race and it’s not timed.
