Although the Discovery Museum does not have its own dedicated Blue Badge parking spaces, here are a number of pay and display spaces in the vicinity of the Museum (operated by Newcastle City Council), which include accessible parking bays.
Getting to the Discovery Museum in Newcastle Upon Tyne using Public Transport
The Discovery Museum is an easy 5-10 minute roll from Newcastle Railway Station (part of the UK’s national rail network).
The “Central” Metro station is here too (for easy access by Newcastle Upon Tyne residents too).
Accessible Entrance to the Discovery Museum in Newcastle Upon Tyne
The main entrance to the Discovery Museum in Newcastle is wheelchair accessible, and is reached by a slightly sloping paved ramp.
Once at the main entrance, you will find two sets of double-width automatic sliding doors.
Accessible Toilets in the Discovery Museum in Newcastle Upon Tyne
There are three separate accessible toilets in the Discovery Museum – on the ground, second and fourth floors.
In addition to the accessible toilet on the Ground Floor, there is also a Changing Places toilet on this level.
And although the accessible toilet on the Second Floor is not an official Changing Places facility, it also has a day bed and a shower with a seat.
Accessible Cafe/Restaurant in the Discovery Museum in Newcastle Upon Tyne
